Women often find their concerns are ignored during the separation process. As a result, popular opinion and policy often fail to see children's needs beyond contact needs, and can hold women responsible when they are experiencing abuse or child care difficulties.
Until women have an equal voice in family law, decisions affecting families are in danger of being based on one sided views, myths and misunderstandings. To change things for the better, women's stories must be heard.
We need your help in raising awareness of the issues women face. This could be about the whole process, or examples of specific difficulties, eg if your ex partner undermined you, or your child's needs were not fully taken in to account.
